Indie distro picks up DRT, Hiero Imperium.

Fontana Distribution continues to beef up its label roster, recently adding rock imprint DRT Entertainment and the artist-run hip-hop label Hiero Imperium.

Over the past few weeks the independent distribution arm of UMVD has made a number of additions to its label roster. As previously reported, electronic-focused Quango Music Group (Billboard.biz, April 11) and smooth jazz imprint Rendezvous Entertainment (Billboard.biz, April 5) recently made the switch to Fontana.

DRT was previously distributed by Navarre, and will releases new albums from the likes of Soil and Powerman 5000. Hiero Imperium, the label run by hip-hop act the Hieroglyphics, had been most recently liked with RED Distribution.

In other Fontana news, the distributor has named Linda Kury its national director of sales and marketing. Kury was the marketing director of UMVD, and will remain based in Los Angeles. She reports to VP of sales Ken Gullic.

Fontana has also named Denise Garbo and Brett Patjens regional account managers. Garbo was with Fontana’s A&R department in New York and Patjens held a similar position in Los Angeles.
