Stegall named chief creative officer

Hot Nashville-based label Broken Bow Records is bringing on veteran songwriter/producer Keith Stegall as chief creative officer, has learned. As a producer, Stegall has worked with such artists as Alan Jackson, Randy Travis and George Jones.

Stegall has also written songs for the likes of Al Jarreau, George Strait, Travis Tritt and Conway Twitty, and spent nearly 10 years as a VP at Mercury Records Nashville. That run ended in 2002.

Additionally, veteran artist manager and publisher Alan Kates is joining the label and its sister publishing company, Magic Mustang Music, as COO.

Broken Bow is home to Jason Aldean, Craig Morgan and Megan Mullins, among others. Aldean's "Why" is currently the No. 2 song on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart.

Stegall is co-producing Morgan's next album with Phil O'Donnell.
