Sources: successor to be named in June.

Rick Williams, GM of EMI-owned Caroline Distribution, is leaving the company, effective immediately. No reason was given for his departure, and an EMI spokesperson declined to comment.

Sources close to the distributor, however, tell that a replacement for Williams will be named in June. In the interim, Caroline’s VP of label relations, Michael Bull, will oversee the distributor. Bull will report to EMI Music North America COO Ivan Gavin.

In a statement, Gavin says, “Rick has been with Caroline since the beginning and for the last 18 years, he has done an admirable job, servicing Caroline’s 90 independent label customers. We thank him for his contribution and wish him well in his future endeavors.”

Caroline distributes such labels as Century Media, Definitive Jux, Stone’s Throw and Southern Lord, among many others.
