Robert Lear to assume role.

Robert Lear has been named senior VP of A&R and marketing for Universal Music Mexico. Lear reports to Victor Gonzalez, president of Universal Music Mexico and Central America, and will be based in Mexico City, Mexico.

"Robbie's accomplishments, experience and longstanding commitment to our artists makes him the perfect choice to lead our A&R and marketing efforts in Mexico," said Gonzalez in a statement.

Lear has been a part of the UMG family for over 10 years. His background includes working at UMG's Latin America Regional office, where he was worked with artists such as Juanes, Paulina Rubio and David Bisbal.
