Label teaming with Your World Games

Sony BMG has agreed to co-publish a video game for mobile phones called The Shroud. The game, still in development, incorporates Global Positioning System technology as part of its location-aware features, which will mix a virtual role playing game with real-world locations.

Sony BMG teamed with developer Your World Games to create the game, expected next spring. Thomas Hesse, president of Sony BMG's global digital business group, says mobile games are a "great complement" to the label's other mobile entertainment initiatives. Exactly how Sony intends to incorporate its artists and/or content into the game is unknown.
