Takes on VP of creative services role.
The Recording Academy has promoted David Konjoyan to VP of creative services. Konjoyan, who has recently served as senior director, will continue to report directly to Neil Portnow, President of The Recording Academy.
Prior to joining The Recording Academy in 1998, Konjoyan worked as a music journalist, in radio promotion and public relations. He has written articles for numerous publications as well as album liner notes and press packages, and has conducted extensive interviews with such personalities as Burt Bacharach, Phil Collins, Macy Gray, Elton John, and Jon Stewart.
He began his career as a freelance writer out of college for such publications as BAM, Musician, and the Orange County Register.
