Only second reggaetón act to embark on tour in states.

William Omar Landrón, aka Don Omar, will launch his first extensive U.S. tour October 13 in Atlanta. Don Omar will play a total of 17 U.S. cities, plus three dates at the Coliseum in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Bachata stars Aventura and rising reggaetón duo Rakim y Ken-Y will open the show in select cities. The “King of Kings Tour,” so named after Landrón’s latest album, “King of Kings,” is produced by Latin Entertainment Group and sponsored by Verizon, which will also have the rights to certain downloads of live performances. The tour is being described as a Broadway style extravaganza.

Although Don Omar has played major shows in the United States before, this is the first time he actually embarks on a bona fide, lengthy tour. Don Omar is only the second reggaetón act, after Daddy Yankee, to embark on a significant arena tour in the Untied States.
