New York-based Kemado Records has signed with Sony BMG-owned RED Distribution. Effective immediately, the distributor will handle all future Kemado releases.

Kemado had most recently been linked with Disney-owned Hollywood Records, which provided additional marketing, promotion and manufacturing for the label's releases. With the exception of rock group Elefant, which will stay with Hollywood, Kemado will bring its entire catalog to RED.

Kemado is home to psychedelic rock act Dungen and Sabbath-inspired rockers the Sword, among others. The label's two-year deal with Hollywood expired in August, says co-founder Tom Clapp.

"RED presented a very strong offer, a very strong proposal," he says. "They had this 'we need you' sort of attitude."

The label's first releases through RED will be rock act Danava, whose album is due Oct. 31.
