Less than 1 percent affected.

A small number of Apple Computer's Video iPods shipped in the past month carry a Windows computer virus.

A message posted on Apple's Web site Wednesday (Oct. 18) states that since September 12, less than 1 percent of Video iPods left its contract manufacturer carrying the virus RavMonE.exe, which affects computers running Microsoft Corp.'s Windows operating system.

The iPod nano, iPod shuffle and Mac OS X are not affected, and all Video iPods now shipping are virus free, according to the statement.

The post details how to remove the virus.
