Named VP/GM of music, movies and television.

AOL has named Mike Rich VP/GM of music, movies and television. Rich, a veteran AOL programming executive, replaces Erik Flannigan, who is exiting the company after a year on the job. Rich reports to Bill Wilson, senior VP of programming for AOL, and is based in New York.

Rich most recently served as VP of AOL programming, products and operations. He joined AOL in 2001 as executive director of programming for AOL Music.
Prior to joining AOL, Rich was VP of Internet media at Burly Bear Network, a college television network. He also served as an executive producer at Get Music, LLC, an online music company backed by Universal Music Group.

In Rich's new role he will oversee AOL Music, AOL Radio, and AOL Television.

Sources say Flannigan, who came to AOL from Real Networks, is leaving the company to pursue other opportunities. Further details were not disclosed.
