Offerings launch in Canada, Portugal.

Wireless operators in Canada and Portugal are launching mobile music download services.

Portuguese operator TMN Portugal is implementing the Napster Mobile service, developed in partnership with Ericsson. Japanese operator NTT DoCoMo went live with the same service earlier this month. The service provides access to more than 2 million tracks from all the major labels and independents.

Meanwhile, SaskTel, a mobile operator in Saskatchewan, Canada, has tapped Groove Mobile to power its music download service. Groove Mobile is the technology provider behind the Sprint Music mobile download service. The service features 300,000 tracks from Sony BMG, Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group.
