Colombian superstar Juanes and Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) have signed a long term publishing agreement. The deal kicks off following the expiration of his current deal with peermusic. Juanes has one more album, due out later this year, left under that deal.

One of Latin music's top sellers, Juanes also broke ground beyond the Latin realm with his past album, "Mi Sangre" (Universal Music Latino), which became a success in Europe thanks to the Spanish language single "La Camisa Negra," which climbed charts in several languages. "Mi Sangre" has sold close to 700,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen Soundscan, and 4.5 million worldwide, according to Universal.

Juanes recently renewed his recording agreement with Universal Music Latino and launched a joint venture label, 4Js, with Universal.

David Renzer, Chairman/CEO of Universal Music Publishing Group, said UMPG
will use its "aggressive, marketing driven approach in representing
[Jaunes'] beautiful songs."
