Rather than selling prime spots to the highest bidder, Apple instead demands exclusives on new songs, artist interviews, or discount pricing, the article says.

More often than not, labels play along. But some have begun bemoaning Apple's "bullying" tactics, as well as the shrinking space on the iTunes homepage as movies and TV shows increasingly are added to the mix.
