Wireless operator Sprint Nextel has informed subscribers is a recent billing statement that it plans to drop the streaming music service provided by Sirius Satellite Radio, and replace it with 10 channels of genre-based music from another, as-yet-unnamed provider.

The move appears to be part of a broader shakeup of its mobile entertainment products and services that also includes mobile video and TV services.

Sprint officials are not commenting beyond the information included in the billing statement. More information on Sprint's mobile entertainment plans is expected at the upcoming CTIA Wireless 2007 conference in Orlando.
