Mobile media company FunMobility has acquired InfoSpace Media Studios, formerly known as Moviso, gaining both the division's content library and staff. No purchase price was disclosed.

Under the deal, FunMobility will also license InfoSpace's Mobile Data Services Platform, which provides the underlying technology to sell mobile content online and deliver it to wireless phones.

Ken Nowak was named the head of the unit as VP and GM. The division will now be known as the FunMobility Media Studio.

InfoSpace bought Moviso from Vivendi Universal in 2003. The company was a pioneer of the ringtone market. Most of the company's upper management departed following the acquisition, however, and InfoSpace struggled to maintain its momentum.
