A year after its launch, MTV Tr3s has expanded its distribution to 6.2 million Hispanic TV households and 31.9 million total homes according to Nielsen, the bilingual entertainment channel revealed.

MTV Tr3s' previous incarnation, MTV EspaƱol, reached 3.1 million Hispanic TV households and consisted mainly of video blocks on repeat until it was re-launched last September as MTV Tr3s.

The channel credits its hybrid distribution strategy of cable, satellite and broadcast affiliates with growing its reach. Satellite operator Echostar, which owns the DISH Network, recently picked up MTV Tr3s, which is also seen on 30 broadcast affiliates nationwide.
