The Smashing Pumpkins has been forced to reschedule five U.S. concert dates after drummer Jimmy Chamberlin was hospitalized for chest discomfort.

Chamberlin was admitted to an Atlanta hospital Tuesday after experiencing chest pains. An angiogram later revealed the drummer had a partially blocked artery. Chamberlin rested overnight and was released the following day.

Smashing Pumpkins concerts this week in Atlanta (Oct. 30-31), Austin (Nov. 2), Dallas (Nov. 3) and Nashville (Nov. 5) have been rescheduled for later this month. All tickets will be honored at the moved dates.

The band is currently performing in theaters around the country in support of its comeback album "Zeitgeist," which was released in July.
