Bolstered by a star cast of performers that included Enrique Iglesias, Juanes, Marco Antonio Solís, Ricardo Montaner, Juna Luis Guerra and Wisin & Yandel, the 2008 Billboard Latin Music Awards saw their ratings rise by 43% in comparison to the 2007 edition of the awards, according to Nielsen Media Research.

The awards, which aired live April 10 from the Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Fl. on the Telemundo network, were watched by 2 million total viewers, up from 1.4 million viewers the year before.

This year's edition of the awards marked their 10th anniversary on the Telemundo network, which has been producing and airing the show since 1999.

Awards were given out in a record 54 categories, with finalists and winners determined by their performance on the Billboard charts during a one-year period from the issue dated Feb. 10, 2007 through this year's February 2nd issue.
