Bebo, the social network recently acquired by AOL and Universal Music Group UK, have teamed up to create an online video series about a UMG employee who creates a record label.

The fictional story will follow much the same format as Bebo’s other online dramas such as “KateModern” and “Sophia’s Diary” in that it is a scripted, fictionalized plot and relies on corporate sponsors in lieu of advertising breaks. UMG’s production arm Globe Productions is producing the series, set in the company’s West London offices.

But the series, “The Secret Life of Sam King,” is also an effort to broaden Bebo’s music content in that it will feature artists and music from UMG’s roster. The series is expected to have several spinoffs, as well as a podcast featuring new music in the soundtrack.
