Atlantic Records has entered into a joint venture with Scream Star Entertainment, headed by chairman and industry veteran Michael Mauldin.

The first artist signed to the Scream Star Records imprint is 16-year-old R&B singer Jeremy "Maleek" Leggett. The signing is in association with Wyclef Jean's Carnival House Records. The son of former Harlem Globetrotter Clarence "Mugsy" Leggett, Maleek got his start as a member of the trio 3 On 3.

Targeting 13-25 youth, SCREAM Star Entertainment is a multi-dimensional artist development and entertainment brand. One of its key platforms is the seven-year-old Scream Tour concert series. T.I. and Ciara headlined last summer's outing, which also featured special guest appearances by Jay-Z, 50 Cent and Kanye West, among others. Details regarding the upcoming Scream Tour Holiday Jam will be announced soon.

Additional platforms being developed include "The Next Scream Star," a national R&B/hip-hop and pop talent competition whose prizes include performing in the next Scream tour; Scream Star Magazine, a national publication written and produced by teens and Scream Star Radi0, a 24-hour station billed as "The Sound of Young America" and featuring interviews, live concert feeds and such programming as "The Def DJ Top 20 Countdown."
