-Spanish Broadcasting System’s Mega TV and Worldvibe Entertainment is casting a music reality show, “Batalla de las Americas,” to form the latest Menudo offshoot XM2. The primetime show will debut in April after auditions in New York, Los Angeles, Puerto Rico and Miami, the latter of which start this week. XM2 currently consists of ex-Menudo members Rawy Torres, Jonathan Montenegro and Sergio Blass. The auditions are open to males 18 to 30 and culminate in April at Miami’s James L. Knight Center, where contestants from 15 countries will compete for the spot in the group. More audition information is available here.

-Merengue veterans Raul Acosta y Oro Solido have signed a worldwide publishing deal with New York company Sunflower Entertainment. Sunflower, whose catalog also includes Dominican rapper Vakero, bachata star Kiko Rodriguez and La Sonora Dinamita, will handle Raul Acosta y Oro Solido’s publishing and master administration, synch licensing and digital exploitation. Raul Acosta y Oro Solido’s next album, “Fantasia Urbana,” features Fat Joe and comes out Feb. 17 on 24K Records.
