U.K. pop act Mika is set to release his anticipated sophomore album "We Are Golden" through Casablanca/Island Records worldwide Sept. 21, with the U.S. following on Sept. 22.

The album will be preceded with the worldwide digital release of its first single, the title track, on Sept. 6 and the physical release the following day. It features the Andrae Crouch Gospel Choir, famous for its appearance on Madonna's "Like A Prayer."

"We Are Golden" was written and co-produced by Mika, with help from co-producer Greg Wells. Special guests include the Seawind Horns, Imogen Heap, Owen Pallet from Final Fantasy and Arcade Fire, and Stuart Price.

His debut "Life In Cartoon Motion" has sold almost 6 million copies around the world, according to his label. It has also been certified five times platinum in the U.K. on sales of more than 1.5 million, and earned the singer-songwriter BRIT, Ivor Novello and MTV Awards.

"'Life in Cartoon Motion' contained a lot of childhood references," said Mika in a statement. "The new album is more adolescent. I loved that feeling of being 17/18 years old and I wanted to return to that period."

Mika will close the iTunes Live: London Festival on July 31. He will also appear acoustically at the Latitude festival in Suffolk, England this weekend and with a full band at the Isle of Wight's Bestival in August.
