Radio programmers from major and emerging markets, the Rivera family musical dynasty, a new wave of regional Mexican artists and superstar Alejandro Fernandez are lined up for the fourth annual Billboard Regional Mexican Music Summit.

The summit devoted to the top-selling style of Latin music takes place Oct. 8-9 at Los Angeles’ Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel.

Clear Channel, Entravision, Liberman Broadcasting, Curtis Media, MVS International, Bustos Media and Salem Communications are among the radio companies sending programming staff from their regional Mexican-formatted stations to the conference. La Favorita Radio Network, La Poderosa 1550 AM, and the La Maquina network will also send programmers.

Conference attendees will have the opportunity to network with programmers at roundtable sessions and can learn about what radio is looking for at the “Play My Song: Breaking Into Radio” panel on Thursday, Oct. 8.

The genre’s freshest faces will speak at the “Brave New Groups” panel, featuring Billboard chart stars Larry Hernandez, Roberto Tapia, El Potro de Sinaloa, La Nueva Rebelion and El Compa Chuy. Fonovisa’s 25th anniversary party at L.A. Live’s Conga Room and BMI’s “Noche Mexicana” showcase at the Rumba Room will also feature up-and-comers as well as marquee names.

The conference highlights will include a star Q&A with Alejandro Fernandez and a panel featuring four members of the Rivera family musical dynasty: Jenni Rivera, Lupillo Rivera, Juan Rivera and their father Pedro Rivera.
