Pitbull has canceled the May 31 stop of his AEG Live-promoted “Mr. Worldwide’s Carnaval” tour at Phoenix' Celebrity Theatre, as a protest against Arizona’s new immigration enforcement law.

“I am canceling my concert in Phoenix on May 31... How is the country we enjoy and love bcuz of its human rights, freedom, opportunity and that has been built by immigrants, now start 2 deny them??.. It is contradicting 2 everything the USA stands 4,” the Cuban-American rapper tweeted on Thursday.

Pitbull’s tour starts May 25 at Denver’s 1stBank Center and wraps June 28 at Milwaukee’s Summerfest.

Other artists, including rap group Cypress Hill and regional Mexican act
Conjunto Primavera, have also canceled Arizona shows in protest agains the law, which requires local authorities to attempt to determine a person’s immigration status if they are suspected to be undocumented.
