The operators of central London nightclub Sound have been placed into administration, roughly equivalent to Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the U.S.

London-based Colin Wilson and Tim Dolder of RSM Tenon, Edward Symmons LLP have been appointed joint administrators of club operators Sound Too Limited and are currently trying to find a buyer for the 1,000 capacity venue, which is located in central London's Leicester Square.

Earlier this year, Edward Symmons LLP successfully negotiated the purchase of central London nightclub Fabric, whose operators Fabric 591 Limited went into administration in June (, June. 4). Fabric was subsequently sold for an undisclosed sum to Fabric Life Ltd, headed by private investor Gary Kilbey.

Colin White, partner in the hospitality and leisure division at Edward Symmons LLP, is being tasked to source a purchaser for Sound.

In a statement White said he was "confident that the future of Sound may yet be safeguarded" and that the club will remain open whilst a buyer is sought.

"Interest in key venues in Central London locations remains strong and, with Sound's substantial and loyal customer base we hope to secure a suitable purchaser promptly," he went on to say, adding that the administrators had already received "a number of enquiries from a variety of established operators."
