New York Fashion Week's kickoff event, Fashion's Night Out took place on September 10 and played host to musicians all over New York City, celebrating the event. Billboard sat down with VV Brown before her performance at the Teen Vogue/ block party to talk about her role in Fashion Week, writing a new record, and her return to London for some much needed time at home. Brown, who has just come off the road with Maroon 5, is getting ready to start recording the follow up to her critically acclaimed "Traveling Like The Light". Of the next record, Brown told Billboard it would have "a darker feel" and be "a lot more mature". When talking about her writing process she said that she needs to strip away her celebrity and "go back to riding the bus and eating mac and cheese". The new record should come out sometime early next year. PHOTOS: RACHEL BEEN AND ELIZABETH HURST
