Singer Alejandro Sanz swept Spain's 57th Premios Ondas awards by winning three of the five music prizes that form part of 23 awards for national, international and Latin American radio and TV shows and personalities.

The Grupo Prisa media holding awards were announced late Nov. 4 in Barcelona by the oldest of Prisa's Cadena SER radio stations, Radio Barcelona, and will be presented at a gala show in Barcelona's Gran Teatre del Liceu on Nov. 19. The gala will be televised live by Prisa's national TV network Cuatro.

"Once again, this is the year of Alejandro Sanz," said Luis Merino, director of music at Prisa's international radio division, Unión Radio, of the Miami-based Spanish singer.

Sanz won for best song ("Looking For Paradise"), best album ("Paraíso Express"), and best artist. Other winners were Colombian singer Shakira for best Latin artist, and veteran Spanish singer Raphael for the jury's best career award.

The international awards for best radio show went to Germany's RBB-Kulturradio's Kinder Von Sodom und Gomorrha. Best international TV show was won by France Television's program "Apocalypse, la zème Guerra Mondiale."

Best Latin American radio network award went to ADN Radio Chile.
