Reggaeton star Don Omar, whose new single “Danza Kuduro” is currently at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart, has signed a global administration deal with EMI Music Publishing.

The deal includes the rights to songs on Don Omar’s new album, “Don Omar Presents: Meet the Orphans,” released Nov. 16 on Machete/Universal Music Latino, as well as all future works. In addition, EMI will administer Don Omar’s entire song catalog--including hits like “Pobre Diabla” and “Reggaeton Latin”--as well as the rights of other writers signed to his publishing company, Crown P.

Don Omar was signed by EMI Music Publishing U.S. Latin creative director Leslie Ahrens in Miami, together with Leotis Clyburn, urban senior creative director for EMI Music Publishing in New York. This is the first time he signed an administration deal with a major for his compositions.
