"To be here today means that I'm recognized for my ­songwriting and for my legacy," she continued, teary-eyed as fiance Taylor Kinney, grandmother Angelina and parents Joe and Cynthia Germanotta sat before her. "And that's why tonight is so important. Women provide a wisdom to music that is very unique ... And more importantly because we're all equal."
