As expected, Wind-up Records confirms executive Steve Lerner has left the company.

Lerner, who has been with the label from some of its earliest days, served stints as president and CEO over the course of his nine-year tenure. Wind-up said in a statement that Lerner ceased his day-to-day activities in October 2006. He submitted a formal resignation on March 9, 2007.

Lerner's duties largely will be absorbed by Wind-up president Ed Vetri, a seven-year vet who has been serving in his current role since November 2005.
