Paul Brown is leaving European streaming service Spotify after 18 months. Brown joined as managing director of the U.K. operation and was upped to the SVP strategic partnerships role early this year.

"Paul is leaving Spotify at the end of the summer to join a start up outside of the music space," said a statement from Spotify. "We would like to thank him for all his great work and wish him the very best in his future endeavours."

Brown was previously Pandora's international managing director.
