Veteran music journalist Bob Doerschuk has joined the Country Music Association as editor of its CMA Close Up magazine. He replaces Peter Cronin, who recently exited to partner in a family business.

Doerschuk is a former editor of Musician and has served in senior editorial positions for Keyboard magazine, and Sonicnet, among others. He's authored several books on popular music and is a two-time winner of the ASCAP Deems Taylor Award for excellence in music journalism.

Doerschuk will direct all aspects of CMA Close Up including story pitches, writing and assigning features, editing and production. He will also contribute to CMA's Web sites and oversee editorial content for CMA's weekly news service, which has affiliations with more than 800 newspapers across the U.S. and around the world.
