Country music superstars Brooks & Dunn, Kenny Chesney, George Strait, Reba McEntire with special guest Kelly Clarkson and rising stars Sugarland will all perform as part of the 42nd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards, which take place May 15 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Strait, who scored his first Billboard No. 1 in 1981 and last won an ACM trophy in 1997, leads the field with eight nominations, including entertainer of the year and top male vocalist.

Brooks & Dunn are nominated for seven awards, including entertainer, top vocal duo and album of the year. They have previously won 21 ACM awards and are the 2007 recipients of the ACM/Home Depot Humanitarian Award.

Chesney, the reigning entertainer of the year and No. 1 ticket seller of 2006 according to Billboard Boxscore, is up for two awards, including entertainer. Sugarland is nominated for top vocal duo. They took home top new duo or vocal group honors last year.

McEntire and Clarkson, who performed on last year's show with Rascal Flatts, will perform a song from McEntire's upcoming album MCA Nashville, "Duets," due Sept. 18. The ACM awards will be hosted by for an unprecedented ninth time by McEntire. They will air live at 8:00 p.m. ET on CBS.
