Country star John Rich, one half of duo Big & Rich, will serve as a judge/mentor for season six of the reality show "Nashville Star," which will begin airing June 9 on NBC. The show's first five seasons aired on USA Network.

Rich will write and produce the winner's debut single. As previously reported, Billy Ray Cyrus will host the show.

Meanwhile, the show's executive producer Howard T. Owens, who also serves as managing director of production company Reveille LLC, has announced a joint venture between AEG Live, Warner Bros. Records and Reveille. Warner Bros. will release music from this season's winner and other show contestants while AEG Live will promote an upcoming "Nashville Star" concert tour.

AEG is also behind the American Idol, Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus, High School Musical and Dancin' With The Stars tours. Universal South, Warner Bros. Nashville and Sony BMG Nashville have released albums on past winners. The show's alumni include Miranda Lambert.

Rich is no stranger to reality television, having just completed the first season as host of "Gone Country" for CMT.
