Jarmon dethrones City Girls after eight weeks on top.

Following the first full tracking week after the season finales of NBC's The Voice (May 21) and ABC's American Idol (May 19), the winners of the two competitions claim the top two positions on Billboard's Emerging Artists chart (dated June 1).

The Voice's Maelyn Jarmon rises 3-1 to become the top emerging act in the country, after winning season 16. She leads the list as four of her tracks land on the Digital Song Sales chart: her cover of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" at No. 6 (20,000 sold, according to Nielsen Music), "Wait for You" at No. 24, "Unforgettable," with her coach John Legend, at No. 33 and "Stay" at No. 50.

Jarmon also notches her first entry on the Billboard 200 albums chart, as her EP The Voice: The Complete Season 16 Collection debuts at No. 173 with 6,000 equivalent album units.

Idol champ Laine Hardy makes his Billboard chart debut, opening at No. 2 on Emerging Artists. His debut single "Flame" ignites at No. 8 on Digital Song Sales with 18,000 sold.

Rounding out the Emerging Artists chart's top five, Lewis Capaldi leaps 9-3, City Girls dip to No. 4 after eight weeks on top and Lauv falls 2-5.

Plus, Voice runner-up Gyth Rigdon roars 33-6 and fourth-place finisher Andrew Sevener debuts at No. 11, as their tracks "Proof I've Always Loved You" and "Rural Route Raising" open at Nos. 29 and 44 on Digital Song Sales with 9,000 and 7,000 sold, respectively.

The Emerging Artists chart ranks the most popular developing artists of the week, using the same formula as the all-encompassing Billboard Artist 100, which measures artist activity across multiple Billboard charts, including the Billboard Hot 100, Billboard 200 and the Social 50. (The Artist 100 lists the most popular acts, overall, each week.) However, the Emerging Artists chart excludes acts that have notched a top 25 entry on either the Hot 100 or Billboard 200, as well as artists that have achieved two or more top 10s on Billboard's "Hot" song genre charts and/or consumption-based "Top" album genre rankings.
