On Thursday night (Dec. 6), SZA walked away with the "Rule Breaker" award at Billboard's Women in Music 2018 in New York City.

Before the TDE songstress graciously accepted the prestigious honor, she watched Anderson .Paak shower her with glowing praise when he spoke on their first encounter at the 2014 Enter the Void Tour. "SZA is a gutsy woman who is already in control," exclaimed .Paak.

After his rousing introduction, a video montage displayed a bevy of stars, including Keyshia Cole, celebrating SZA's talent and rebelliousness as an artist. "SZA's imperfectly perfect," Cole gushed during the CTRL's singer video reel.

Following the montage, .Paak presented SZA her award, as she thanked her parents and grandmother who were all in attendance. "I'm just so thankful for everyone having patience with me," she said during her speech.

The singer also thanked TDE's CEO, Top Dawg, for not dropping her from the label, while also crediting TDE;s president, Terrence "Punch" Henderson, for "having a heart of gold" during her early career struggles.
