XXXTentacion's team issued an official statement Tuesday (June 19) following the untimely death of the rapper, who was fatally shot in an apparent robbery on Monday afternoon at age 20.

"XXXTentacion touched the lives of millions around the globe and will forever reside in the hearts of countless fans who listened to his music, attended his concerts, and felt the glow of his uncontainable, undeniable, and unique spirit," the statement reads.

The statement is attributed to manager Solomon Sobande, EMPIRE, lawyer Bob Celestin and AKW PR.

The embattled rapper's rise to the mainstream was mired in legal trouble, as he faced more than a dozen felony charges and allegations of domestic violence against his then-pregnant girlfriend. But that didn't stop the outpouring of tributes flooding social media feeds, as fans and celebs alike have expressed their sadness and disbelief following the news.

"This kid was a genius . true artist. He made his own rules. He has his faults and we was willing to pay for his sins.. but he was young and he worked so hard on his own self . He wanted to be better. he loves everyone so much," Diplo wrote in a post on Instagram. The DJ added that one of XXXTentacion's goals was "to get me & Skrillex to finish his next album."

"I Invited him to LA this week. I was wondering if he was gonna come -- . He used every second of his life to create," he continued. "He reppped Florida to his core.. I love this kid . He was gonna do so much more he promised me."

XXX was reportedly shot by two suspects after leaving a motorcycle shop in Florida. The rapper was transported to Broward North Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

In the statement, XXX's team added that "news about memorial services to be issued forthcoming."
