Juanes has signed a record and co-management contract with Universal Music Latin Entertainment.

In a move that strengthens his music portfolio, the Colombian singer/songwriter is consolidating his relationship with UMLE in an alliance established between GTS and Rebeca Leon's Lionfish Entertainment, according to a spokesperson for UMLE.

"Universal has been my family for 18 years," Juanes said. "To have the opportunity to continue with those I consider my family is an immense joy."

The signature was held at Juanes’ studio in Miami, Fla. and included his manager, Leon, and Jesús López, Chairman/CEO, Universal Music Latin America and Iberian Peninsula.

“The best partnerships come when you believe in each other, when you take risks together and when you make the impossible possible," Leon said. "That’s what we found in Universal and their profound commitment to Juanes and our future together."

Lopez said that Juanes' ability to continually captivate new audiences on a global level and stay creative has been key as the entertainer has become iconic in Latin music.

"This new chapter of the professional relationship of Juanes, plus Rebecca Leon, Lionfish and GTS, the management division of Universal Music, makes us see a clearer and more successful horizon for this great team," Lopez said.

Most recently, Juanes completed his U.S. tour with Mon Laferte and launched his new single and video "Pa ' Dentro." Additionally, he also took two more Latin Grammy Awards for Mis Planes Son Amarte for Best Pop/Rock Album and Best Alternative Song.
