The Claire Davis-directed flick centers on convicts given the opportunity to shorten their prison sentences by embarking on a dangerous space journey.
Andre 3000 shattered the hearts of fans when he revealed to Complex that he may be retiring from the rap game, but his departure from music is for good reason. Despite stepping away from music, 3 Stacks has dabbled in the fashion industry -- he just released the Tretorn Fall '17 sneaker collection and signed on as the brand's creative director -- and is heading into the acting world again.
The artist née Andre Benjamin has signed on for a role in the upcoming Sci-Fi film High Life, as Variety reports, which stars Robert Pattinson and Juliette Binoche. Directed by Claire Denis, High Life centers on the lives of convicts who are given the opportunity to shorten their prison sentences if they agree to embark upon a dangerous journey to space.
Benjamin has previously flexed his acting skills in Four Brothers, Idlewild, and Jimi: All Is by My Side and appeared in ABC's TV series American Crime.
As for any future music from 3000, the elusive rapper told Complex that he's content with allowing the "new wave of artists" to shine and music no longer interests him. "I don’t get much happiness from doing music like that -- I get happiness from pleasing who I’m working with, and helping them, and seeing them be excited."
