Noted producer Salaam Remi has signed an exclusive worldwide administration deal with peermusic. His estimable list of credits includes Alicia Keys (“Girl on Fire”), Nas (“I Can”), the Fugees (“Fu-Gee-La”), Amy Winehouse (“Stronger Than Me”), Fergie (“Labels or Love”), Miguel (“All I Want is You” featuring J. Cole) and Jazmine Sullivan (“Bust Your Windows”)

Both peermusic president/COO Kathy Spanberger and director of A&R, pop/urban Tuff Morgan announced Remi’s signing today (June 20). “Salaam is truly one of music’s premier global talents,“ said Spanberger in a company statement, “and he has an incredible catalog of music that demonstrates that.” Added Morgan, “I remember first meeting Salaam as a studio runner in the ‘90s and then eventually collaborating on an album together. So to be closing a deal with him as his publishing creative manager is a very special moment for me.”

Remi also has an existing joint venture with peermusic for his LIFE b4 Music. The latter’s most recent signees include James Poyser of The Roots and U.K. singer/songwriter Miraa May. Poyser co-wrote and produced Anthony Hamilton’s No. 1 R&B single “Amen.”

“After previously partnering with peermusic for other endeavors, I realized that this would be the best place for my songs,” said Remi, who was also executive music producer for the film Rush Hour 3. “I look forward to the many things that we can get done in the future as I build onto the next phase of my career.”

Founded by Ralph S. Peer, peermusic is celebrating its 90th anniversary.
