Gorillaz and Mary J. Blige are heading for top 10 debuts on next week’s Billboard 200 albums chart, according to industry forecasters. Those in the know suggest Gorillaz’s new Humanz album may launch in the top three of the list dated May 20, with perhaps around 80,000 units earned in the week ending May 4. Meanwhile, Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN. will likely notch a third straight week atop the list.

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The top 10 of the new May 20-dated Billboard 200 chart is scheduled to be revealed on Billboard’s websites on Sunday, May 7.

If Humanz arrives as forecasted, it will log the third top 10 album for the animated band, following Plastic Beach (No. 2 in 2010) and Demon Days (No. 6 in 2005).

Meanwhile, Blige’s new studio effort Strength of a Woman may bow in the top five of the Billboard 200 with over 60,000 units. The album could give Blige her 14th top 10-charting title, stretching back nearly 25 years to her 1992 debut set What’s the 411? That album bowed on the chart dated Aug. 15, 1992, and reached the top 10 on Sept. 19 of that year.
