Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) will administer the publishing catalog of the newly created Roc Nation Latin, Billboard has learned.
The deal, expected to be announced later today, gives a new dimension to Roc Nation Latin’s 360 artist deals.
The Latin division of Roc Nation, helmed by Romeo Santos and his manager Johnny Marines, recently signed a handful of active up-and-coming acts. They include Dominican Mozart La Para, banda singer Victoria “La Mala,” Jayro Rosado, rapper Angel Pérez (Mr. Paradise) and pop singer Karen Rodriguez, a songwriter who is also known for her bilingual Youtube cover versions of mainstream hits. While Roc Nation has its own publishing, UMPG will provide administration services to those acts who are not signed to a publishing company already. The move is the most recent since Alexandra Lioutikoff took over as evp of Latin music for UMPG. Earlier this year, Lioutikoff also signed Roc Nation Latin CEO Romeo Santos, one of the genre’s top songwriters. [readmore:7557910]
