Dua Lipa earns her second to No. 1 on the Billboard + Twitter Emerging Artists chart as “Blow Your Mind (Mwah)” jumps 5-1 on the chart dated Oct. 1. Lipa’s song “Be the One” spent one week at No. 1 on the chart dated May 7.
Billboard + Twitter Emerging Artists is a weekly ranking of the most shared and/or mentioned songs on Twitter in the U.S., ranked by the volume of shares over a seven-day period (Monday to Sunday). The artist must have fewer than 100,000 Twitter followers and have never had a song in the top 50 on the Billboard Hot 100 or top 50 of the Billboard 200 as a lead artist.
“Mind” makes its move following the song’s official release Aug. 26 and music video release on YouTube Sept. 12. The video, which features Lipa and others taking to the streets holding “Dua for President” signs, has attracted 1.7 million global views since its release (through Sept. 21). The track is expected to be featured on the English singer’s debut self-titled studio album, to be released in 2017.
“Mind” is Lipa’s fourth charting song on the Emerging Artists chart. It follows “Last Dance” (No. 4 peak, on the March 5-dated list), “Be the One” (No. 1, May 7) and “Hotter Than Hell” (No. 2, May 21).
Also in the top 10, Sampha’s “Blood on Me” debuts at No. 9 on the Billboard + Twitter Emerging Artists chart. Its lofty debut follows the song’s music video release on YouTube Sept. 16. Sampha was last featured on the chart in June, when “Timmy’s Prayer” debuted at No. 1.
Lastly, JAHKOY and ScHoolboy Q’s “California Heaven” debuts at No. 10. The two rappers teamed up on the song, which was released Sept. 14. The track is JAHKOY’s second appearance on the Emerging Artists chart, after “Still In Love” reached No. 23 on the chart dated June 18.
