Erykah Badu earns her 10th top 10 on the Adult R&B Songs airplay chart with “Phone Down” (chart dated Sept. 3). It rises 11-10 with a 6 percent lift in plays at the format in the week ending Aug. 21, according to Nielsen Music.

The climb marks the first time in more than six years that Badu visited the top 10, which was last achieved when “Window Seat” crowned the list for two weeks in 2010.

The new song, from her latest album, But You Caint Use My Phone, becomes just the fourth song to take at least 30 weeks to reach the top 10 in the chart's 23-year history. Anthony Hamilton’s “Charlene” also took 30 weeks to reach the region in 2004, and Daley’s “Alone Together,” featuring Marsha Ambrosius, had a 31-week journey in 2012. The longest trip to the top 10 was Tamela Mann’s “Take Me to the King,” with a 33-week climb in 2013.

In total, 56 Adult R&B format stations that report to the chart played “Phone Down” in the most recent tracking week, with WMPZ, Chattanooga, Tennessee, leading in weekly spins (40).

Elsewhere, “Phone Down” also reaches a new high on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart where it hops 33-31 in its ninth charting frame.

Badu is scheduled to perform at some upcoming festivals, including Hopscotch Festival in Raleigh, North Carolina (September 9), and Gulf Coast Music Fest in Mobile, Alabama (September 16).
