Baltimore-based Moonrise Festival has come under fire from a number of attendees who are reporting to the event's Facebook group page and Magnetic Magazine that hired security officers demanded they pay them $20 or even $50 or else be kicked off the premises.
“So our friend's younger brother, completely sober, had 2 security Guards 'run his pockets,'” Jay Sa Dune posted on the Facebook page. “Stole all his money. This the type of people you hire? Lee Foss @ Celestial Stage ~ 10pm front right.”
Moonrise Festival responded to the comments via Facebook. “This is not something we will be taking lightly,” the post reads. “We are heartbroken to hear that our patrons were treated in a way that was less than acceptable by our standards.”
The festival asks that anyone who experienced such treatment reach out via firstname.lastname@example.org with details about the appearance of the guards in question as well as when and where the extortion took place.
