They kept us waiting until about 48 hours before the first Friday afternoon set, but Coachella has finally announced the schedule for its first 2016 weekend, April 15-17.
We knew LCD Soundsystem, Guns N’ Roses and Calvin Harris were headlining, but now we know the specifics of their set times. Each of them will close out the Coachella Stage -- LCD April 15 at 11:10 p.m., GnR April 16 at 10:30 p.m. and Harris April 17 at 10:35 p.m.
Each day’s festivities will take place across six stages: Coachella, Outdoor Theatre, Gobi, Mojave, Sahara and Yuma. Doors open each morning at 11, with music starting around noon. The new schedules don’t note when the closing sets will end, though the latest performances begin at midnight and just after on the 15th and 16th.
The schedule for Coachella’s second weekend (April 22-24) is still forthcoming.
And of course, the official schedule brings up a bunch of set time conflicts for guests to sort out. Here are some of the big ones:
M83 (7:55 p.m.) vs. A$AP Rocky (7:30 p.m.) Friday
LCD Soundsystem (11:10 p.m.) vs. Rae Sremmurd (11:05 p.m.) on Friday
Guns N’ Roses (10:30 p.m.) vs. Grimes (10:45 p.m.) Saturday
Disclosure (7:35 p.m.) vs. Vince Staples (7:55 p.m.) Saturday
Alessia Cara (8:25 p.m.) vs. the Chainsmokers (8:30 p.m.) Sunday
Calvin Harris (10:35 p.m.) vs. Deafheaven (10:45 p.m.) Sunday
Okay, we don’t expect much overlap between Calvin Harris and Deafheaven’s fanbases, but if you’re musically diverse enough to feel conflicted, we salute you. Start working on your schedules/FOMO now.
