Following her hosting gig -- and performance -- at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards (Aug. 30), Miley Cyrus debuts on the Billboard + Twitter Top Tracks chart dated Sept. 19 with “Dooo It!,” which starts at No. 23.
Cyrus concluded the ceremony with a drag-queen-infused performance of the cut, before surprise-dropping the song, its music video and its free parent album, Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Petz via SoundCloud. The racy music video for “Dooo It!” has more than 7.9 million global views on YouTube (through Sept. 9), helping Cyrus pick up 45,000 YouTube subscribers for the week ending Sept. 6, according to Next Big Sound, a gain of more than 2,442 percent. The social buzz also bumps Cyrus’ fortunes on the Social 50 chart, where she skips 6-3.
Tyga & Kylie Spark: Meanwhile, Tyga rides a No. 18 entry for “Stimulated,” a track on his mixtape Fuk Wat They Talkin Bout. The cut set social media abuzz thanks to its music video, released Aug. 30, which stars the rapper’s girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, in several romantic scenes. The pair’s relationship has generated a fair amount of controversy due to their ages (Tyga is 25; Jenner is 18.) That interest helped “Stimulated” nab 2.8 million U.S. streams in the week ending Sept. 6, according to Nielsen Music. Tyga’s cut also debuts at No. 41 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.
Pentatonix Returns: Pentatonix nets a No. 24 bow for “Can’t Sleep Love.” The quintet, who first rose to fame by winning the third season of NBC's The Sing Off, dropped the single’s music video on Sept. 4, and the clip has scooped up more than 2.3 million global views on YouTube through Sept. 9. The buzz surrounding the group’s new single scored them 95,000 Twitter mentions for the week, a gain of 310 percent, and likewise bumps them 40-37 on the Billboard Artist 100. “Love” previews Pentatonix’s upcoming self-titled album, due Oct. 16.
