This Friday -- July 10 -- will mark the first global release day for all new music.
New albums will now be released on Fridays in more than 45 countries. Currently, new music is launched on different days around the globe -- Monday for the United Kingdom, Tuesday for the U.S., Friday for Australia and so on. This new initiative -- announced in February and given an official start date in June by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) -- is said to be made for consumers' benefit.
