Mariah Carey has confirmed her first Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace.

The pop superstar shared her big news on The Ellen DeGeneres Show"I'm going to do my first ever residency in Vegas at Caesars. This is a special event for me," Mariah explained. "And again, I have to hope that the fans will enjoy this cause I'm gonna be performing, which was kind of inspired by my album Number 1's, and this is now the updated version with 18 of them. Hopefully other people will enjoy this. I've never done this before," she said as she teared-up on Ellen's couch.

Also during the show (due to air Thursday), Mariah messed about for a fun clip in which she wore a sexy chambermaid outfit and surprised some fans inside the famous casino-hotel. Ellen's audience went nuts when the singer promised each one a ticket for her show. "It's a new chapter for me and I'm just excited about it," she said about the upcoming performances.

Confirmation of Mariah's residency comes on the back of reports Celine Dion is postponing her dates at Caesars Palace. The Canadian-born star was expected to return to the Colosseum in March but, according to various published reports, she's pushing back her music engagements to look after her ill husband Rene Angelil. Billboard has reached out to her reps for comment.
