Owner, Chop Shop Music Group

For the first time in her career as a music supervisor, Chop Shop Music Group owner Alexandra Patsavas assembled an “inspired by” soundtrack album to accompany a film, in this case bringing in Coldplay, the National, Sia, Patti Smith and others for “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.” While handling that high-profile film, Patsavas and her five-member team were supervising at least five TV shows at any given time during the year, among them “Grey’s Anatomy” (now in its 10th season), “Supernatural” and “Mad Men.” She also moved her Chop Shop label to Universal, where she has signed four new acts. “It’s always enjoyable to work for Shonda [Rhimes, executive producer] on ‘Grey’s’ and “Scandal,’ and it’s really interesting to license the music of the ’70s and ’60s, like Bill Withers and Otis Redding. Doing ‘The Carrie Diaries’ lets me focus on the music I grew up on in the ’80s and create covers.” Her latest projects include an album from recent signing Empires and two new TV shows, USA’s “Sirens” and NBC’s “Believe.” —Phil Gallo
